James Steffler as Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer

SEMPCheck Services, a leading provider of Web-based safety and environmental compliance management solutions to the energy industry, has appointed James Steffler as vice president and chief administrative officer. He brings more than 30 years of experience to SEMPCheck’s existing team.

Steffler will be responsible for executive management across multiple functions including operations, business development and finance. His previous experience has been focused on the energy industry domestically and internationally, including roles with Petro-Canada and Enterprise Oil. He is also a Certified Public Accountant in Texas.

Under SEMS, oil and gas operators in the Outer Continental Shelf are required to comply with 13 auditable elements including hazard analysis, operating procedures, training, management of change, and mechanical integrity. Operators must also ensure that their contractors comply with the operator’s SEMS program. SEMS-map, one of SEMPCheck Services' products, enables oil and gas operators, service companies and contractors to assess compliance with all 13 SEMS elements.
